Scientists and researchers from the International Agency for Research on Cancer (IARC) are marking World Kidney Cancer Day with the release of a new video and by highlighting some of IARC’s projects and recent findings related to kidney cancer.
In the video, Dr Ariana Znaor, a scientist in the Cancer Surveillance Branch at IARC, presents an overview of kidney cancer incidence and mortality, risk factors, and trends.
IARC studies investigating kidney cancer include the IARC-coordinated Discovering the Causes of Three Poorly Understood Cancers in Europe (DISCERN) project, a consortium of 19 partners with the aim of discovering unknown causes of kidney cancer, pancreatic cancer, and colorectal cancer.
